Canada Will Welcome 350,000 Immigrants in 2021
2018-11-13
The Canadian government announced increased annual immigration admissions and Canada will welcome 350,000 immigrants in 2021, primarily via economic immigration programs to address skills shortages and gaps in the labour market.
Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen discussed Canada’s three-year immigration plan in the announcement on October 31, 2018, and said that “economic immigration is badly needed in areas across the country that are short on workers and long on older residents:”
This plan is making us very competitive in the global market. It enables us to continue to be competitive, it enables us to continue to present Canada as a welcoming country and to position us to continue to be (a leader) in skills attraction.
Immigration lawyer Evelyn Ackah says Canada needs more qualified workers to move to Canada and help grow our economy:
This plan is to make us very competitive in the global market. It enables us to continue to be competitive and to present Canada as a welcoming country for skilled professionals. If you want to move to Canada, apply now as a temporary foreign worker via Canada’s Global Talent Stream, which promises a 2-week fast-track for qualified applicants, then look at your options to become a permanent resident.
