When a child is born in Canada, does that automatically give the parents the right to stay there? If the child is born to parents who are from another country, do they have dual citizenship?

No, a child born in Canada gets citizenship (though there may be new rules coming out on that in the near future). The parents do not gain citizenhip or permanent residence.

This is an interesting, though slightly worrying topic. If the child gets citizenship but the parents don't surely there is less security for everyone involved? Is it possible that child could sponsor his/her parents when it becomes an adult?
